Job summary

Quanta Services is seeking a Project Engineer - Substation in the United States, focused on high voltage substation design. You will lead a design team of engineers, designers, and drafters to deliver complete projects across the QISG platform.

The role requires a PE license, 5+ years of HV substation experience, and strong knowledge of NEC/NESC/IEEE standards. Travel up to 25% is expected. Quanta Services offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of detailed HV substation engineering in the electric utility industry.
• Proficient with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee substation design from inception to closeout.
• Review calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations.
• Ensure projects meet budget and schedule while optimizing cost.
• Verify compliance with specifications and safety requirements.
• Lead quality control and maintain project documentation.
• Develop design drawings, BOMs, and wiring diagrams.
• Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop and grounding analysis.
• Ensure adherence to NEC, NESC, IEEE, and related standards.
• Travel up to 10-25% as required.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and drafters across projects.
