Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. Lead HV substation design projects and act as Engineer of Record, guiding a team of engineers from planning through startup. Strong client relations and business development skills are essential.

The role requires 15 years of related experience, a PE license, and the ability to travel regionally. Preferred locations include multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• 15 years of related experience in power/substation design and leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV substation design projects from 230kV to 345kV.
• Act as Engineer of Record (EOR) for substation physical design.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables and calculations.
• Mentor engineers, manage team utilization and performance.
• Support business development and client relationships.
