Siemens Energy in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Sr. Primary Substation Engineer to lead the design criteria and prepare main one-line diagrams and general arrangement drawings for substations and switchyards.

You will perform calculations for cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, and station loads, develop equipment specifications, and collaborate with project teams to support proposals and customer meetings while prioritizing safety and reliability.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, power systems preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of primary electrical design experience for HV substations or FACTS.
• Fluent English with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of ANSI, IEC standards and NEC regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit; Microstation a plus.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally (~20% of time).
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsabilidades

• Develop project design criteria and prepare main one-line and auxiliary one-line diagrams.
• Create general arrangement, layout, and elevation drawings for substations and switchyards.
• Perform calculations for cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination, and station loads.
• Develop equipment specifications and detailed bills of materials.
• Collaborate with marketing and project teams to support project execution and customer meetings.
• Identify issues and provide solutions to improve safety, reliability, and timelines.
