Job summary

Siemens Energy in Raleigh, NC invites a seasoned Auxiliary Power Engineer to shape auxiliary power criteria for substations and craft detailed drawings for AC/DC projects. You will size transformers, battery banks, and UPS systems, producing comprehensive design packages for MCCs, MV switchgear, and LV panelboards.

Leveraging ANSI, NFPA, and IEC standards, you will generate technical specifications and support project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronic Engineering with 5+ years of experience in auxiliary power design for substations or power plants.
• Knowledge of ANSI/NFPA/IEC standards and substation equipment requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD; familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, and Microstation is a plus.
• Eligible to obtain a professional engineering license; licensed candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop auxiliary power criteria and create Single Line and Three Line Drawings for AC and DC substations.
• Prepare design and RFQ packages for Motor Control Centers, MV Switchgear, and LV Panelboards.
• Perform calculations to size auxiliary power transformers, battery banks, UPS, and chargers.
• Conduct Arc Flash and Voltage Drop studies to ensure safety and reliability.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and collaborate with marketing and project teams.
