Job summary

Lucid Motors USA, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the High Voltage Design team in Newark, CA. You will lead the development of HV distribution systems, including connectors, harnesses, charge ports, and related components.

The role emphasizes architecture development, component design, validation, and successful production launches with a focus on safety and reliability. Strong CAD and DFMEA experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–6 years of relevant work experience with strong technical proficiency.
• Experience designing and packaging vehicle wiring harnesses with routing, EMC, manufacturing constraints.
• Strong 3D CAD skills (CATIA or similar).
• DFM/ DFA experience across plastics, sheet metal, die castings, busbars, adhesives.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of in-house HV connectors and harnesses for next-generation vehicle platforms.
• Lead design engineering from concept to production and beyond; drive system-level solutions balancing electrical and mechanical needs.
• Prototype, test, and validate HV components and support qualification activities.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, QA, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams for seamless integration.
• Provide mentorship and lead internal design reviews; drive decisions via analysis and first-principles reasoning.
• Continuously optimize designs for cost, safety, and reliability.
