Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our High Voltage Design team in Newark, CA. You will lead the development of next-generation HV distribution systems, including HV connectors, vehicle harnesses, charge ports, and related components, from architecture to production.

Qualifications

• Rock-solid mechanical engineering fundamentals and a flair for creative problem-solving.
• Experience designing and packaging vehicle wiring harnesses with routing, retention, EMC, and manufacturability considerations.
• Strong 3D CAD skills, proficient with CATIA or similar software.
• Proven DFM and DFA experience across plastics, sheet metal, die castings, busbars, and adhesives.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of in-house HV connectors, routing and optimization of HV harnesses and related components from concept to production.
• Prototype, test, and support validation activities including environmental, vibration, thermal, ingress protection, and durability tests.
• Lead design reviews, DFMEA, tooling reviews, and production launch activities with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drive decisions through analysis and testing.
