Job summary

Lucid Motors in Newark, California, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the High Voltage Design team. You will lead the development of next-generation HV distribution systems, including connectors, harnesses, and charge ports, from concept through production and launch.

You will collaborate across electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive design decisions using first-principles analysis in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–6 years of relevant work experience preferred; open to all levels with strong technical proficiency.
• Experience designing and packaging vehicle wiring harnesses with routing, EMC, thermal, and manufacturing considerations.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of in-house HV connector designs, routing and optimization of HV harnesses and related components.
• Manage design engineering from concept to production and beyond.
• Develop system-level solutions balancing electrical performance, mechanical robustness, manufacturability, cost, serviceability, and customer experience.
• Lead supplier technical reviews, DFMEA reviews, tooling reviews, validation alignment, and production launch activities.
• Prototype, test, and validate prototypes.
