Job summary

GE Vernova Grid Solutions, based in Niskayuna, NY, seeks a Senior Control Engineer to drive embedded firmware for next‑generation grid power converters. You will design robust control systems, implement interfaces, and validate hardware with simulations across the full product lifecycle.

Lead cross‑functional work with global teams, mentor junior engineers, and apply AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency. Relocation to the US is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s with relevant experience in controls hardware.
• 5 years with C/C++, PLCs, computer architecture, and embedded/industrial networking.
• 2–3 years in electrical design, schematics, PCBA layout interpretation, or component specs.
• 2–3 years in power converter control design, power electronics, electrical/thermal considerations.
• 3 years minimum in automation, test-driven development and engineering test frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop embedded firmware for power converters control systems.
• Design and implement robust control solutions for power converters and interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C).
• Write, compile, test, and debug firmware through full product lifecycle.
• Develop, maintain, and use simulation models of power converters to validate behavior.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, high-performing control systems.
