Job summary

GE Vernova Power Conversion & Storage division seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in power electronics to own converter designs from concept to validated solutions. You will drive architecture, component selection, and tests, coordinating with controls, manufacturing, and supplier teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, feasibility studies, DFMEA, and customer-facing technical leadership to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Masters in power electronics with 6+ years of experience.
• Experience with SiC, GaN, IGBT and Thyristor devices in high-density converters.
• 3+ years in electrical power systems including test bench development.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements for large industry, marine, renewable and naval power converters.
• Lead design and development of high-power converters and power systems.
• Model and simulate power electronics and systems using MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, LTspice.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (UL, IEC, IEEE, NEC, MIL).
• Lead design reviews and provide technical guidance to layout and controls engineers.
