Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Substations Project Manager to lead HV/EHV substation projects across multiple locations in the U.S. You will oversee engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The role requires 7–10 years of project management experience in electrical substations, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive budgets, schedules, and risk management across portfolios.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years progressive post‑education experience in a project management role delivering HV/EHV substations or utility‑scale power delivery projects.
• Demonstrated understanding of the project delivery lifecycle within the A/E/C industry with PM focus.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, risk, QA/QC, safety, and client‑facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cross‑functional engineering, design, and construction teams delivering HV/EHV substations and manage budgets, labor hours, cost tracking, and schedules.
• Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) and cost‑loaded schedules for engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and energization.
• Coordinate with staff for QA/QC plans, safety standards, and regulatory requirements across projects.
• Prepare and present project initiation/setup documents (RMP/PMP/QP/PSP) and participate in kick‑off meetings.
• Provide regular project reporting and manage earned value, cash flow, and budgeted margin.
