WSP is seeking a HV Cable Design Engineer for our Energy team, with opportunities across Ireland and the UK. Based in Dublin, Naas, or Belfast, you will lead design and assurance of HV/MV cable systems from concept through FEED and detailed design.

You will act as a technical authority, coordinate with civil, primary, and protection teams, and support construction through FATs and site inspections. Chartered status and travel are advantages.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Power preferred).
• Extensive HV cable design experience for HVAC/HVDC onshore/offshore.
• Knowledge of IEC standards and CIGRE/IEEE policies.

Responsabilités

• Lead HV/MV cable system design from concept to detailed design and construction support.
• Act as technical authority across cable systems and multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Review developer/supplier/contractor deliverables for compliance with standards and regulations.
• Prepare and review equipment and route specifications, tender docs, and progress reports.
• Perform cable sizing, thermal, EMF/TMF analyses, and sheath bonding studies.
• Ensure drawings and deliverables meet programme and client specs.
