Job summary

WSP Energy is expanding its Electricity Transmission & Distribution service line in Ireland and seeks a Technical Lead - Engineering Design Manager to join our team based out of Dublin, Naas or Belfast. This role focuses on developing relationships with Ireland's Electricity Network Operators, winning bids, and delivering projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status.
• Experience in HV and MV electrical design for Ireland's electricity transmission systems preferred, including owner’s engineer/construction monitoring roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams across HV/MV infrastructure projects.
• Establish and lead a capable design team.
• Own design management activities across FEED and detailed design phases.
• Coordinate inputs from all technical disciplines.
• Ensure outputs align with safety requirements and regulations.
• Provide technical leadership through the project lifecycle from concept to handover.
• Oversee compliance with standards and client specs.
• Provide clear progress updates to senior stakeholders.
• Define project scope and manage design delivery during construction.
