Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design high voltage cables and systems for complex projects. You will serve as a technical consultant to customers, support sales, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Remote work options are available, with occasional travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. A Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 5–7 years of HV design experience are required; PE licensure and a Master’s degree are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5–7 years of experience in electrical design for high voltage systems.
• Master's degree and PE license are preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: PE may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers high voltage cable design and provides technical expertise.
• Designs and develops HV cable systems with detailed specifications.
• Applies electrical engineering principles to meet project requirements.
• Implements processes to optimize cable design from concept to testing.
• Coordinates with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders on specs and timelines.
• Analyzes project data and recommends improvements based on findings.
• Supports testing and performance evaluations to ensure standards.
• Communicates design progress with teams and customers.
• Identifies opportunities to improve cable systems and production methods.
