Job summary

Avalara, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, HR Business Partnering to be the primary people strategist for two C-suite executives.

You will lead a global team of HRBPs, align talent to business strategy, and drive leadership capability with a focus on AI and data-driven decision making. You will partner with Centers of Excellence to tailor frameworks for technical teams, advance workforce strategies, and rebuild how the People & Culture team operates across time zones.

Qualifications

15+ years of HR experience, including 6+ years of people management leading a team of HRBPs.
Experience advising C-suite and SVP leaders with credibility to challenge.
Experience designing organizations for technology teams and scaling across regions.
Experience leading change at scale as AI and automation reshape roles and teams.
Global HR experience across the U.S. and international markets, with data-driven thinking.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow a global team of HRBPs across TCO and Strategy & Product, North America, India, EMEA, Brazil.
Advise and challenge C-suite and senior executives on org, talent, and strategy.
Design an AI-native organization and plan headcount, location strategy with Finance.
Set leadership expectations and run talent calibration and succession planning with AI in mind.
Partner with Centers of Excellence to tailor enterprise frameworks for technical teams.
Strengthen Avalara's culture and drive performance across time zones.
