Job summary

The State of Florida, Department of Business and Professional Regulation, seeks a Human Resource Manager B - SES in Tallahassee to lead a two-person HR team and support Chief of Human Resources with employee relations, FMLA, ADA and time/attendance programs.

You will supervise staff, provide guidance to agency officials, administer EEO/AA, FMLA and EAP, and contribute to policy improvements and training development across divisions.

Qualifications

• Six years of direct Employee Relations experience (disciplinary actions, appeals, negotiations, FMLA/ADA).
• Three years of management experience with direct supervision of two+ employees (attendance, leave, performance, recruitment, discipline).
• Experience in sensitive/confidential environments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees, set workflow objectives and deadlines.
• Motivate staff and conduct regular meetings.
• Advise agency officials and staff with recommendations.
• Administer employee relations program including disciplinary actions and investigations.
• Conduct investigations and prepare written reports.
• Administer EEO/AA, ADA and FMLA programs and EAP.
• Consult with legal on personnel matters; provide expert testimony as needed.
• Represent the department in labor relations and collective bargaining matters.
• Review policies/procedures and suggest improvements.
• Handle employee/employer relations questions daily to resolve issues.
• Interpret rules, regulations, and agency practices for supervisors and staff.
• Develop and provide training to agency employees.
