Position Overview

The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the SES reclassifications that require approval from the Department of Management Services. The position works under Human Resource Manager B - SES and requires strong customer service skills while partnering closely with all levels of staff within and outside of the Department.

Your Specific Responsibilities

• Provide a second level HR review for actions that must be approved by DMS
• Submit classification action requests to DMS and act as point of contact
• Conduct position audits upon request and issue decisions on appropriate classification
• Provide technical assistance to supervisors, managers, and staff on personnel rules and HR policies.
• Review classification actions to establish, reclassify, abolish, and update Career Service (CS), Selected Exempt Service (SES), Senior Management Service (SMS), and OPS positions.
• Analyze current and proposed tables of organization to ensure proper organizational structure.
• Deliver classification related training
• Perform additional HR duties as assigned to support the mission of the Florida Department of Health.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of Microsoft applications software
• Knowledge of State of Florida Personnel Rules and applicable Florida Statutes
• Knowledge and the ability to use the People First system
• Ability to interpret, apply and communicate applicable human resource management statutes, rules, policies, and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

• Classification related experience in an HR office
• Experience submitting requests to DMS
• Proficiency using Org Management in People First
• Professional Customer Service experience
