Job summary

Office of the Colorado State Public Defender is seeking a Senior HR Generalist focused on Recruitment & Employee Lifecycle. The role provides HR consultation to trial offices, leads onboarding, and coordinates compensation processes in a state government setting.

You will advise leaders and employees, manage recruitment, and promote inclusive employment practices while traveling to offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR management, business, public administration, organizational development or closely related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible professional human resources experience, including experience administering recruitment and selection processes.

Responsibilities

• Leads recruitment and selection programs for assigned positions, including interviews, salary placement, and offers.
• Manages onboarding programs and ensures accessibility and effectiveness.
• Advices office leadership on HR policies, procedures, and resources.
• Responds to routine HR inquiries and escalates high-risk matters when needed.
• Coordinates with HR experts to provide guidance to offices.
• Travels to other offices as required to sustain HR partnerships.
