Job summary

Divergent, based in Torrance, CA, is seeking a Senior HR Generalist / Employee Relations Specialist to shape a fair, high‑performing workplace as we scale. You will handle ER matters, investigations, policy interpretation, and collaborate with Legal and People leadership to address complex issues while safeguarding compliance and employee experience.

Qualifications

• Experience managing employee relations matters and investigations.
• Experience applying California employment practices in ER, leave, accommodations, and compliance.
• Experience administering leave of absence, accommodations, or workers' compensation.
• Experience partnering with Legal on ER, investigations, or compliance.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies with a focus on consistency and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for managers and employees on ER concerns, issues, policy interpretation, and experience matters.
• Conduct Tier 1 and Tier 2 ER intake, investigations, fact-finding, documentation, and resolution recommendations.
• Partner with managers to address employee concerns, performance issues, conflicts, and policy questions.
• Collaborate with People Leadership and Legal on complex or high-risk ER matters.
• Maintain accurate ER documentation, case files, and records; identify trends and propose proactive solutions.
• Design and continuously improve ER systems, workflows, and escalation processes for consistency and scalability.
• Support Leave, Accommodations, and Compliance programs including tracking and return-to-work coordination.
• Coordinate immigration case administration in partnership with external counsel and vendors.
