Job summary

The Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) is seeking a Manager of Inspections in Baltimore, MD for a full-time role. You will supervise inspection staff, plan and schedule inspections, and ensure HQS/NSPIRE compliance, partnering with state and federal agencies and property owners.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in assisted housing inspections, with at least 1 year of supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, social service, or related field and 5+ years in assisted housing inspections or related field.
• 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Possession of a valid Maryland driver’s license.
• HQS and/or NSPIRE certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspection staff, assign workloads, monitor daily schedules and routes, and ensure inspections within required timeframes.
• Train, mentor, evaluate, and support inspection staff development.
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement changes to inspection practices, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain inspection records and prepare reports related to inspection outcomes and program performance.
• Represent HABC at industry events and interact with landlords, tenants, and stakeholders.
