Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts in Redwood City is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee preventive maintenance of the property and equipment, monitor life safety systems, and administer the department in line with brand standards. You will manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems hotel-wide.

The role requires coordinating with General Manager and Corporate Engineering on renovations, servicing the pool, and maintaining the building exterior.

Qualifications

• Must communicate in English.
• Experience maintaining hotel mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train, and supervise maintenance staff; provide discipline as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical issues across the hotel.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
• Assist with hotel renovations and construction phases with General Manager and Corporate Engineering Directors.
• Respond courteously to guest questions and requests to ensure satisfaction.
• Coordinate with department heads to address maintenance needs and timely responses.
• Service the pool area, maintain chemical levels and logs.
• Maintain exterior and curb appeal, landscaping, painting, and grounds.
• Ensure compliance with franchise standards and inspections; manage service contracts.
