Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical program.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as hospitalist and leadership role in group practice.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
• Strong collaboration and communication with staff and administration.
• Experience contributing to Joint Commission readiness.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Clinical Nurse Manager to assess progress on goals and improve physician engagement.
• Champion meaningful change and develop new processes to improve efficiency and patient care.
• Solicit, listen to, and communicate feedback among stakeholders including physicians, nursing, patients and administration.
• Build consensus between physicians, nursing staff, and administration with Nurse Manager.
• Review long length of stay patients with attending physicians to facilitate dispositions.
• Assist with Joint Commission readiness efforts.
• Facilitate triage of patients to promote patient flow.
• Oversee follow-up of quality concerns for patients moving to outpatient settings.
• Ensure discharge planning includes follow-up appointments, medications, and home needs.
• Attend regular meetings with unit medical directors and nurse managers to assess best practices.
• Perform other duties related to patient care as necessary.
