Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a senior hospitalist leader to drive physician engagement and oversee a hospital-based practice. You will collaborate with nursing leadership to implement standardized care protocols, improve patient safety, and lead quality initiatives across the unit.

The role requires Board Certification in Internal Medicine and at least 5 years in a hospitalist leadership capacity, with a track record of process improvements and staff collaboration.

Qualifications

• Board-certified internal medicine physician with hospital-based leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and improve patient care processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration with nursing leadership and administration.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Clinical Nurse Manager to track goals and drive physician engagement.
• Champion meaningful change and help develop new processes to improve efficiency and patient care.
• Solicit and relay feedback from physicians, nursing staff, patients, and administration.
• Build consensus between physicians, nursing staff, and administration with Nurse Manager.
• Review long length of stay patients with attending physicians to disposition appropriately.
• Assist with Joint Commission readiness activities and patient safety initiatives.
• Facilitate patient triage to optimize throughput and follow-up on quality concerns.
• Coordinate discharge planning with case management and follow-up care arrangements.
• Attend regular meetings with unit medical directors and clinical nurse managers to share best practices.
• Perform other duties related to patient care as needed.
