Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD is seeking an experienced hospitalist leader to oversee physician recruitment, retention, supervision and practice development within the hospital's physician network.

The role focuses on implementing standardized care protocols, patient safety initiatives and collaboration with nurse managers, clinicians, and administration to improve patient care quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical program.
• Minimum of 5 years of hospitalist experience with leadership in a group practice.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
• Fundamental knowledge related to hospital-based physician practice.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Clinical Nurse Manager to assess progress and drive physician engagement.
• Champion change and develop new processes to improve patient care efficiency.
• Solicit and communicate feedback among physicians, nursing staff, patients and administration.
• Review long length of stay with clinicians and coordinate dispositions with attending physicians.
• Assist with Joint Commission readiness efforts.
• Facilitate triage of patients to promote patient flow.
• Ensure discharge planning provides follow-up appointments, medications and home needs.
• Attend regular meetings with unit medical directors and nurse managers to assess best practices.
• Perform other duties related to patient care as needed.
