Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) in Baltimore, MD seeks an experienced hospitalist leader with governance responsibilities to guide patient care and clinical operations. You will partner with nursing leaders, drive performance initiatives, and participate in Joint Commission readiness while ensuring high-quality outcomes and efficient workflows.

The role requires at least 5 years of hospitalist experience with leadership in a group practice and board certification in Internal Medicine.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of hospitalist experience with leadership in group practice.
• Fundamental knowledge related to hospital-based physician practice is required.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Manager to monitor progress on goals and physician engagement.
• Champion changes and help develop new processes to improve patient care efficiency.
• Solicit and communicate feedback among physicians, nursing staff, patients and administration.
• Build consensus among physicians, nursing staff, and administration with the Nurse Manager.
• Review long length of stay patients with attending physicians to aid dispositions.
• Assist with Joint Commission readiness efforts.
• Facilitate triaging to maintain patient flow.
• Follow up on quality concerns for patients moving to outpatient care.
• Ensure discharge planning includes follow up appointments, medications and home needs.
• Attend regular meetings with unit medical directors and nurse managers to share best practices.
• Perform other duties related to patient care as needed.
