Job summary

The Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking an experienced hospitalist leader to oversee clinical operations and staff collaboration. The role requires a physician with leadership in a hospitalist setting and a strong commitment to patient care quality.

Responsibilities include partnering with the Clinical Nurse Manager to advance goals, implementing efficient processes, soliciting stakeholder feedback, and coordinating discharge planning and Joint Commission readiness across the unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical program.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
• Minimum 5 years of hospitalist experience with leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead physician engagement with Clinical Nurse Manager and staff to meet goals.
• Champion new processes to improve efficiency and patient care.
• Solicit feedback from physicians, nursing, patients and administration.
• Build consensus among physicians, nursing staff, and administration.
• Review long-stay patients with CNM and coordinate dispositions with attending physicians.
• Assist Joint Commission readiness efforts.
• Facilitate patient triage and flow to optimize throughput.
• Ensure proper discharge follow-up appointments, medications, and home needs.
• Collaborate with unit medical directors to share best practices.
• Perform other duties related to patient care as needed.
