Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking an experienced hospitalist with leadership capabilities to oversee physician practice and drive quality initiatives. The role supports standardized care protocols, patient safety programs, and active participation in hospital-based physician practice management.

The candidate will collaborate with Clinical Nurse Managers, lead change processes, and coordinate with attending physicians to optimize patient flow and discharge planning while ensuring Joint Commission

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as hospitalist and leadership role in group practice.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Clinical Nurse Manager to assess progress on goals and physician engagement.
• Champion meaningful change and develop new processes to improve efficiency and patient care.
• Solicit and communicate feedback among physicians, nursing, patients and administration with the Nurse Manager.
• Build consensus between physicians, nursing staff, and administration with the Nurse Manager.
• Review long length of stay patients with attending physicians to plan dispositions.
• Assist with Joint Commission readiness efforts.
• Facilitate triaging to promote patient flow.
• Ensure follow up for quality concerns when patients move to outpatient settings.
• Collaborate in regular meetings with unit medical directors and nurse managers.
• Perform other duties related to patient care as needed.
