Job summary

Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois is seeking a Facilities Maintenance professional to manage preventive maintenance, respond to repair needs, and ensure safe, continuous operation of hospital buildings and equipment. The role requires hands-on work across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and related trades.

You will document work, communicate with staff, and maintain systems like boilers, chillers, ventilation, and life-safety controls, while meeting quality standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five to seven years’ experience in mechanical or electrical trades, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to facility needs to maintain safety and uninterrupted service.
• Perform preventive maintenance and on-demand work orders for equipment and buildings.
• Monitor building envelopes and report issues (windows, doors, sidewalks, paving).
• Troubleshoot and maintain utility systems (boilers, chillers, ventilation, fire protection).
• Document tasks with time spent and communicate with staff and leadership.
