CBRE’s Sr Building Engineer role on a mission-critical hospital campus in Plano, TX, directly oversees building systems performance, safety, and reliability while guiding a hands-on engineering team. You’ll manage daily maintenance workflows, escalate issues, and ensure compliance with life safety standards.

You will lead preventative maintenance programs, monitor BAS platforms for energy optimization, and coordinate with contractors and facilities staff to maintain a safe patient environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage team workflows, and make independent decisions in a high-pressure environment.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• The innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyond existing solutions.
• Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions having a broad impact on the business.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Responsabilités

• Manage and direct daily maintenance workflows, ensuring all work orders are completed efficiently and within established SLAs.
• Jump in to assist the team directly when operational demands require additional support by perform hands on maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and general facility infrastructure.
• Lead the implementation and execution of a robust preventative maintenance program to extend equipment lifespan, minimize downtime, and ensure peak performance.
• Utilize and monitor BAS platforms to proactively manage environmental conditions, optimize energy efficiency, and troubleshoot system anomalies.
• Oversee third-party contractors, including scheduling site visits, coordinating access, and auditing work to ensure compliance with quality standards and contract specifications.
• Serve as a primary responder for facility emergencies and critical system failures, diagnosing issues rapidly and implementing effective solutions.
• Ensure all maintenance activities align with healthcare regulatory requirements, life safety codes, and company safety protocols. Conduct and sign off on inspections for life safety systems, fire alarms, and critical infrastructure.
• When needed travel to local satellite facilities as needed to provide technical support and ensure consistency in operational standards across the campus footprint.
• Interact professionally and effectively with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Showcase expertise in own job discipline and in-depth knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function.
• Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.
