Job summary

Affinity Hospice Management LLC is seeking a Director of Clinical Services to oversee hospice clinical operations in the Washington, DC area. The role directs an Interdisciplinary Group, ensures compliance, and drives quality improvement across patient care.

You will supervise nursing staff, manage budgeting, ensure records compliance, and promote CHAP standards. RN licensure and leadership experience in hospice required; CPR certification and driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN license in good standing.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing with 3 years of management experience in hospice or related health care; or RN with 4 years in hospice/related field, with at least 1 year supervisory.
• Background checks required after offer.
• Ability to supervise and direct professional/administrative personnel.
• Must be licensed driver with insured vehicle.
• Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.
• CPR certification required.
• Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse preferred.
• Knowledge of CHAP standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designates an alternate in writing for DCS duties.
• Supervises all direct and indirect patient services.
• Guides coordinators and Clinical Managers to improve hospice care.
• Assists Clinical Managers in managing clinical teams and planning.
• Assists with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Assists in budget preparation and administration.
• Interprets operational indicators affecting staffing and finances.
• Evaluates performance of Clinical Managers.
• Oversees maintenance of clinical records and compliance with laws.
• Maintains inventory for patient services.
• Develops and evaluates orientation programs for staff.
• Plans inservice and continuing education quarterly.
• Supports performance improvement and quality/safety programs.
• Promotes compliance with licensure and CHAP standards.
