Job summary

Macomb County Government's Office Of Senior Services seeks a Part-time Home Maintenance Technician to perform minor household repairs, heavy cleaning, and install safety devices in seniors' homes. You will conduct in-home assessments, schedule visits, and document client referrals while supporting program goals.

The role requires driving to client homes, independent work, and adherence to grant-related procedures as part of the county’s services for older adults.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three years of experience in construction or building trades.
• Must have a valid Michigan driver's license and insured vehicle.
• Residential Builder’s license preferred.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor household maintenance tasks such as replacing faucets and door hardware.
• Perform heavy-duty cleaning such as wall washing and carpet cleaning.
• Install safety/accessibility devices (grab bars, handrails, handheld shower heads).
• Perform outdoor maintenance such as exterior safety railing and outdoor window washing.
• Assist in program purchases, inventory, and maintenance of equipment.
• Schedule in-home appointments to inspect homes for defects.
• Complete required documentation for client referrals.
• Operate an automobile for assigned job functions.
