Job summary

Citi’s Citi Bank Retail Mortgage unit seeks a Mortgage Lending Officer in New York to originate high-quality residential real estate loans. You will interact with clients, agents, and partners to grow mortgage sales and maintain strong client relationships.

The role requires deep knowledge of lending products, mortgage regulations, and excellent communication skills. A bachelor’s degree is required and salary is competitive with benefits.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in mortgage or related field.
• Residential Mortgage experience required.
• 1+ year in sales, credit or finance.
• Proven product sales capability.
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred.
• Ability to explain financial calculations and pricing.
• Ability to communicate documents and information for loans.
• Knowledge of consumer lending laws and RESPA.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Self-motivated and independent work ethic.
• Strong relationship development and management skills.
• Expertise in general lending products and mortgage industry.
• Must register as a mortgage loan originator with NMLS.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about financial situations and lending needs to achieve home ownership goals.
• Collect and analyze income, assets, debts, cash flow, and credit history.
• Analyze financial information to assess loan qualification.
• Make recommendations on lending solutions.
• Advise on risks and benefits of lending options.
• Promote Citi and its lending services to clients and referral partners.
• Visit customers outside Citi offices as needed.
• Work with internal partners to support customers and grow business.
• Refer customers to appropriate Citi professionals for additional services.
• Coordinate with Operations to ensure loan application process flow.
• Assist in timely loan closing with Processors/Closers and customers.
• Develop key referral relationships to drive mortgage business.
