Job summary

D.R. Horton is seeking a Superintendent to manage all aspects of on-site construction, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring quality from permit to closing. The role requires strong communication, scheduling, and adherence to safety and building codes in multiple communities.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of related experience, a relevant high school diploma or GED, and is capable of reading construction documents. A Bachelor’s degree is a plus. Competitive salary and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to four years related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Schedule subcontractors and evaluate quality and efficiency per code.
• Complete each home site from planning to occupancy, meeting contract obligations.
• Inspect subcontractors' workmanship and halt non-compliant work.
• Authorize payments to subcontractors after inspection and for materials received.
• Manage the customer experience throughout construction with regular updates.
• Ensure community cleanliness and site presentation during construction.
• Manage the post-close warranty process and address warranty requests.
• Follow up with homeowners to address concerns promptly.
• Maintain knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Collaborate with sales, warranty, and management for proactive issue resolution.
• Conduct business ethically to increase goodwill and profit.
• Ability to work additional hours as necessary.
