Job summary

The State of Nebraska, through the Transportation - Agency 27, seeks a Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior in Bartlett, NE. You will operate trucks and heavy equipment to maintain highways, perform traffic control, and support snow removal and sign repair.

CDL with endorsements is required within 60 days, with comprehensive state benefits and career growth opportunities. Initial pay starts at approximately $20.39 per hour with progression to $21.95 per hour for certified CDL holders, and

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
Need Class A or B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days.

Responsibilities

Operate trucks and light equipment to transport crews or materials to work sites.
Operate tractors with attachments to maintain highways.
Operate post drivers for signs, fences, and guardrails; use handheld tools.
Perform patching and sealing of cracks in highways and structures.
Paint buildings and structures.
Perform snow removal.
Manually provide highway traffic control for safety.
Perform routine maintenance and repair on equipment.
Repair highway signs.
