State of Nebraska in Geneva, NE, is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior to join the Nebraska Department of Transportation. You will operate a wide range of maintenance equipment and participate in routine and emergency roadwork to keep highways safe and functional.

The role requires 18+ years old with a valid driver's license; CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements are required within 60 days of employment. Benefits include retirement, holidays, leave, and health insurance.

Competenze

• Experience in operating heavy highway maintenance equipment or farming background.
• CDL Class A with tanker endorsement preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.

Mansioni

• Operates highway maintenance equipment such as trucks, rollers, loaders, graders, snowplows, backhoes.
• Operates specialized equipment for lay-downs, rock cutting, snoopers, paving, drilling, or milling.
• Identifies maintenance needs and participates in servicing and repairs; maintains maintenance yards.
• Patches roadways and structures; repairs signs and snow fences; maintains bridges and culverts.
• Moves and lifts equipment and materials safely; assists with materials handling.
• Trains coworkers in maintenance tasks and procedures.
• Performs snow removal and emergency response duties; may work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Responds to emergency calls with short notice when required.
