The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) seeks dependable team players for Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior roles across Gordon, Merriman, Hyannis and other NE locations. The job involves operating trucks and heavy equipment to maintain highways, mowing shoulders, installing signs, and performing road repairs.

CDL with air brakes/tanker endorsements desired; on-call and snow removal duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior requires a Class A or B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days of employment.
• A valid CDL with tanker endorsement and related certifications are preferred where applicable.

Responsabilités

• Operate trucks and light equipment to maintain highways and related infrastructure.
• Mow right-of-ways and roadsides; perform patching and sealants on road surfaces.
• Install, move or remove signs and guardrails; ensure safety at work sites.
• Control traffic around construction sites using signs and cones; communicate road conditions.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment; participate in snow removal when needed.
