The State of Nebraska, through the Nebraska Department of Transportation, is hiring for Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior in Crofton, Hartington, Laurel, and Newcastle, NE. The role offers hourly pay with CDL requirements for advancement and a strong benefits package.

Candidates should be prepared for on-call emergency work and extensive outdoor duties. Minimum qualifications include 18+ years old with a valid driver's license; Senior requires Class A/B CDL with air brakes and tanker

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Senior: Class A or B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days of employment.

Responsabilités

• Operate equipment such as loader, trucks, tractors, mowers, and hand tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and assist with repairs.
• Patch potholes, repair signs, erect snow fences, and repair road, bridges & culverts.
• Load and unload materials; work long hours during emergencies (floods, storms).
• Report to work for emergencies with short notice; work in adverse weather and traffic safety incidents.
