Job summary

State of Nebraska, Transportation - Agency 27 in David City, NE, is hiring a Hwy Maintenance Worker/Senior. The role operates trucks and tractors for highway maintenance, installs traffic devices, maintains landscaping, and performs repairs and snow removal as needed.

Minimum 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license; CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days. CDL tanking endorsements, pesticide license and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• For Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior, must obtain Class A/B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days.
• Preferred: heavy equipment experience or farming background; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks and light equipment to complete highway maintenance.
• Operate tractors with attachments for highway right of way maintenance.
• Install signs, fences, guardrails using post drivers and hand tools.
• Perform shrubs, lawn maintenance, tree trimming and brush cutting.
• Paint buildings and structures; perform patching and sealing on highways.
• Provide highway traffic control and move heavy materials safely.
