The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is seeking a dedicated Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior to join our team in maintaining state highways and related infrastructure across the Merriman area and surrounding districts.

This role requires a valid CDL (A or B) with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days, and offers an hourly pay rate of $20.39, with eligibility for promotion to Senior at $21.953 per hour upon proficiency and certification in heavy equipment operation.

Competenze

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
• CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements due within 60 days of employment for Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior; 60 days for the Worker position.

Mansioni

• Operate trucks and other light equipment; drive to transport crews or materials to work sites.
• Mow right-of-ways and maintain shoulders and roadsides using power hand mowers and tractors with attachments.
• Install and move signs, fences, guardrails, and snow fences.
• Repair roadways; apply patching and sealants; paint and maintain structures and signs.
• Control traffic around construction and maintenance projects per safety procedures.
• Move and lift equipment and materials within weight limits; handle hazardous materials.
• Inspect and maintain equipment; upkeep maintenance yards and buildings.
• Operate snow removal equipment during emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
