Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation’s Abilene District seeks a Transportation Maintenance Spec VI to lead a crew in Nolan County. You will manage daily tasks, respond to emergencies, and coordinate materials while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a CDL Class A with N Tanker Endorsement and 5 years of roadway maintenance experience, reporting to the maintenance supervisor. Local travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5 years roadway maintenance experience; related education may substitute.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A with N Tanker Endorsement at time of application.
• Ability to lead a crew and coordinate daily work.

Responsibilities

• Lead crew in daily maintenance tasks and emergency responses.
• Schedule work and allocate materials/equipment.
• Inspect roads and oversee contractor work.
