Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Presidio, TX is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Crew Chief to lead crews, oversee equipment operators, and respond to emergencies on a day shift. This onsite role requires a CDL A, N or Tanker endorsement and a strong track record in roadway maintenance.

Minimum qualifications include High School Grad and 5 years of roadway maintenance experience, with eligibility for a state vehicle license.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and drive a state vehicle.
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• "N" Endorsement or Tanker Endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Leads a crew of transportation maintenance technicians and equipment operators.
• Assists in administration of the maintenance section and coordinates daily work assignments.
• Estimates materials and equipment, inspects roads, and maintains records.
• Operates light and heavy equipment and oversees designated staff.
• Responds to emergencies, assists during accidents and weather events, and ensures safe operations.
