Job summary

Artheon is seeking a Highway Engineer for our Berlin, NJ team. The role focuses on highway design, safety improvements and road infrastructure projects within a leading transportation consultancy.

A candidate with 5+ years in highway/transportation engineering and proficiency in CAD tools is preferred. The position offers a full-time, on-site opportunity in Berlin, NJ, reporting to the Transportation department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in highway design/transportation engineering.
• Licensed in NJ as EIT or PE preferred (or able to obtain soon).
• Proficiency with MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads or similar CAD software.
• Knowledge of NJTA, NJDOT, and AASHTO design standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop highway alignments, profiles, typical sections and safety improvements per standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to meet objectives and budget.
• Evaluate roadways for safety improvements and traffic management during construction.
• Ensure designs comply with regulations and standards (NJTA, NJDOT, AASHTO).
• Prepare technical reports and plans using CAD software, with cost estimates.
