Job summary

Artheon is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Transportation team in Berlin or East Brunswick, NJ. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in highway design and transportation engineering and proficiency with CAD software such as MicroStation/InRoads or OpenRoads.

A PE license in New Jersey or eligibility within a year is required. The role involves leading design tasks, coordinating with clients and project teams, and ensuring compliance with NJTA, NJDOT and AASHTO standards while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of highway design/transportation engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license in New Jersey or ability to obtain within a year.

Responsibilities

• Lead highway and roadway design teams on planning and design tasks and manage scope, schedule, budget and deliverables.
• Develop highway alignments, typical sections, grading, cross-sections and safety improvements per NJTA, NJDOT and AASHTO standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients and multidisciplinary teams to meet objectives efficiently and within budget.
• Evaluate safety improvements and maintenance of traffic plans, including barrier placement and temporary striping for construction.
• Ensure designs comply with NJTA, NJDOT, AASHTO and local regulations.
• Prepare technical reports and CAD plans (prefer MicroStation) per NJTA/NJDOT standards.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, cost estimates and prepare project specifications.
