Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Highway/Roads Engineer to lead the detailed development of rural and urban roadway designs in the United States, including QA on major transportation projects.

You will serve as a technical expert, guide staff, and interact with clients while contributing to HDR’s iconic infrastructure portfolio. With a minimum of 10 years in roadway design and a PE license, you’ll coordinate survey, grading, drainage, and utilities, leveraging Civil 3D, InRoads, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in roadway engineering design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication skills, and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Experience includes urban and rural highway interchanges, intersections, traffic management and planning.
• Coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities; layout of site items is a plus.
• Active participant in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical role in detailed development of rural and urban roadway design projects.
• Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highways.
• Serve as a technical expert with authority in an area of specialization.
• Provide guidance for technical staff.
• Take on some project management duties and interact with clients as needed.
• Supervise work of medium-sized teams of professionals and technicians.
• Perform other duties as needed.
• Utilize CADD production and modeling software including OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation SS10.
