Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer Traffic to lead design oversight for roadway projects, traffic signals and safety analyses.

You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams on urban and rural interchanges, leveraging a PE license and 10+ years of ITS/traffic experience. This role also involves supervising professionals, serving as a project manager on larger programs, and contributing to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' ITS/traffic engineering experience for urban/rural highways and interchanges.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Knowledge of state and federal transportation regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic and related software.
• Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to employee-owned culture and collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

• Provide design oversight for roadway, signing, pavement marking, traffic signals and safety studies.
• Oversee traffic control and maintenance of traffic during construction.
• Serve as technical expert resolving complex problems on major programs.
• Organize and supervise professionals and technicians as needed.
• Serve as project manager on larger projects when required.
• Perform other duties as needed.
