Job summary

HDR is seeking a roadway engineer to work on urban and rural highway projects within the Transportation Business Group. You will support project managers, oversee CAD designers, and prepare detailed roadway designs while mentoring junior staff.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, mentorship, and growth, with a focus on delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable mobility solutions for communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent recognized by local board.
• Experience in roadway/highway design using CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a technical role on roadway/highway projects under a Project Manager.
• Oversee CAD Designers and junior staff.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway projects.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist with project management duties as Deputy PM (optional).
