HDR invites a Roadway Engineer to join our transportation team in Vienna, VA. The role leads roadway design projects, coordinates with designers, reviews scopes, budgets, and schedules, and mentors junior staff.

You will prepare plans for highway and intersection layouts, drainage, traffic control, and related utilities, ensuring quality and on-time delivery on municipal and state projects.

Responsibilities

• HDR's Roadway Engineer will: serve as a project manager or task leader for urban and rural roadway engineering projects of various sizes and complexity, coordinating the work of the design team through the design development and contract document phases of a project; prepare or review scopes, budgets, and schedules; prepare, design, or produce elements of contract plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation-related civil engineering projects using state, county, and city or other applicable standards, including Roadway Sections, Intersection Layout, Interchange Layout, Horizontal and Vertical Alignment, Right of Way Plans, Temporary Erosion Control Plans, Site Preparation Plans, Transportation Profiles, Retaining Wall Plans, Drainage Plans and Profiles, Utility Plans, Paving, Pavement Marking Plans, Signing Plans, and Traffic Control Plans; develop construction quantities and prepare project estimates; write reports and technical memorandums; coordinate with subconsultants
