Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with VDOT and the public.
• Ability to read, interpret and analyze roadway, structure and bridge plans and contracts.
• Ability to maintain detailed project documentation and prepare reports.
• Ability to work in a team environment and supervise others.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and terminology.
• Ability to apply safety, environmental, and DBE guidelines to transportation construction.

Responsibilities

• Independently coordinate, schedule and inspect highway construction projects to ensure quality.
• Communicate with VDOT, contractors and the public about traffic changes and project phases.
• Monitor inspections, review performance of inspectors and ensure contract compliance.
• Maintain as-built drawings and project documentation; track expenditures and budgets.
• Distribute meeting minutes and oversee submittals and approvals for scope of work.
• Ensure safety practices and environmental controls are followed on site.
