Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering is preferred.
• NICET Level III Highway Construction certification required.
• ACI, TCC, CCTC, and NJSAT certifications required.
• 5+ years of experience in heavy highway/bridge construction inspection.
• Experience with NJDOT / NJTA projects required.
• OSHA 10-hour safety course is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time-management skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure.
• Good skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Monitors contractor operations and verifies conformance with project plans and specifications.
• Serves as the on-site highway inspector for construction work performed by the contractor and subcontractors.
• Interacts with site supervision to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
• Prepares daily reports, correspondence, change orders, and payment estimates.
• Observes work details and documents results with photos.
• Confirms compliance with technical documents and industry standards.
• Reviews field data and transfers to company server.
• Discusses projects with project team daily.
• Makes judgments on field activities.
• Will work night shifts and weekends as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
