Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Manager HV to lead high‑voltage scopes for gas generation projects from early design through energization and turnover in the United States. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of HV design, construction, commissioning, or project-management experience.
• Strong knowledge of project execution, contracts, schedules, budgets, risk, quality, safety, and documentation.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and resolve complex technical, commercial, or execution issues.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and relevant project systems.
• Professional licensure or certification in the discipline is preferred.
• Ability to travel to project, supplier, partner, or operating locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead or manage execution of plant substations, switchyards, and related HV assets.
• Develop and maintain the project execution plan, schedule, budget, forecast, and risk register.
• Define scopes of work, support RFPs, bidder evaluation, and contract award.
• Act as Owner's representative with EPCs, OEMs, engineering firms, utilities, and authorities.
• Coordinate Development, Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and Safety teams.
• Oversee design reviews, constructability, value engineering, and issue resolution.
• Manage contractor schedules, budgets, scope, quality plans, and safety expectations.
• Track long-lead equipment, fabrication, logistics, site readiness, and turnover.
• Lead status reviews and communicate progress, risks, and mitigation actions.
• Coordinate utility, interconnection, customer, and regulatory interfaces.
• Oversee turnover to Operations, testing, and punch-list closeout.
• Ensure project records include final drawings, reports, warranties, and training.
• Lead lessons learned and continuous improvement across gas project portfolio.
• Travel to project sites and partner locations as required.
