Qualifications

• B.S. Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Power Systems.
• 7+ years of substation design experience, either Physical or P&C.
• 2+ years of HV project engineering experience.
• Proficient in readings control schematics for HV breakers and transformers.
• Knowledge of power system modeling: load flow, insulation coordination, grounding, arc-flash, TOV, harmonics.
• Understanding grid integration requirements for renewables.
• Strong communication and ability to lead technical discussions among HV EPCs, utilities, and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EPC contractor engineering design and construction for HV substations and lines (35kV–500kV).
• Establish and maintain relationships with HV contractors.
• Review Substation EPC designs for interconnection and reliability standards.
• Provide design review and resolve issues in project documentation.
• Review power system studies including load flows and harmonics.
• Coordinate with interconnection providers to meet transmission requirements.
• Support substation commissioning by coordinating testing with utility and ISO.
• Collaborate with project team across fields (PM, development, permitting, finance, construction).
• Travel and fieldwork approximately 25%; projects primarily in Eastern/Central US.
